The Director of Compliance oversees all investigations of Nursing Practice Act violations by licensees and certificate holders, discipline administration, disciplinary hearings, legal correspondence, discipline monitoring, reporting of investigations, reporting of violations of Board of Nursing disciplinary orders, case management Diversion Program Participants, coordination of investigations with other jurisdictions and agencies. This director manages the staff and programs of investigation, audit, diversion, and discipline monitoring.
The Director of Nurse Education and Unlicensed Assistant Personnel assists the Executive Director in the interpretation and execution of the New Mexico Nursing Practice Act and Rules. This Associate Director is responsible for all the regulatory activities of the New Mexico Board of Nursing related to New Mexican pre-licensure nursing education programs (RN and LPN) and for the Hemodialysis Technician, and Certified Medication Aide education programs, certification processes and certifying exam processes. This Associate Director also performs managerial, consultative and administrative work for the Board as needed. In the execution of the above responsibilities, this Director conducts site visits to education programs to evaluate and determine compliance with the statutes and regulations, and to provide the education programs with technical support to help them achieve compliance.
The Diversion Program (DP) Nurse Manager manages the diversion program and supervises the diversion program staff. The incumbent oversees all aspects of the program including outreach, case management, reporting violators, testifying and monitoring of participants. The incumbent ensures strict confidentially of the program and adherence to all applicable laws such as the Nursing Practice Act, the Uniform Licensing Act, the Inspection of Public Records Act, the Open Meetings Act, HIPAA and the Privacy Act.
