(09/21/2022) - Proposed rule changes

The New Mexico Board of Nursing (NMBON) will hold a Public Rulemaking Hearing on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022. The Rulemaking Hearing will begin at 9:00 AM via Microsoft Teams through New Mexico Board of Nursing.

The purpose of the rules hearing is to consider changes to approximately seven (7) Parts within the Board’s rules. This includes a proposal to repeal and replace for the following five parts: 16.12.1 NMAC (“General Provisions”; 16.12.2 NMAC (“Nurse Licensure”); 16.12.4 NMAC (“Hemodialysis Technicians”); 16.12.5 NMAC (“Medication Aides”); and 16.12.11 (Lactation Care Provider”). In addition, the rules hearing will also consider a new part, 16.12.13 NMAC (“Diversion Program for Chemically Dependent Nurses”). Finally, the rules hearing will consider a proposal to amend 16.12.3 NMAC (“Nursing Education Programs”)

(12/09/2020) - Proposed rule changes

The New Mexico Board of Nursing (NMBON) will hold a Public Rulemaking Hearing on Thursday, February 4, 2021. The Rulemaking Hearing will begin at 9:00 AM via Zoom through New Mexico Board of Nursing, at 6301 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

The proposed language outlines rules for clinical simulation during a public health emergency and updates the criteria for the different approval status for pre-licensure programs.

(05/12/2020) - Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Notice Proposed Rules & Notice of Public Hearing

The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators (ICNLCA) proposes uniform rules pursuant to Article VIII of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). The proposed rules are necessary to provide proper guidance and clarification to licensees and applicants of the party states as well as the Compact Commissioners that will promote compliance with the NLC.

The New Mexico Board of Nursing (NMBON) will hold a Public Rulemaking Hearing on Thursday, February 6, 2020. The Rulemaking Hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m., at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in the Bank of America Theatre, 1701 Fourth St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Statutory authority for this rulemaking can be found in Section 61-3-10 et seq. NMSA 1978.

The purpose of the Rulemaking Hearing is to hear public testimony and comments regarding the proposed amendment to the rule: Title 16 Occupational and Professional Licensing, Chapter 12 Nursing and Health Care Related Providers Part 2 Nurse Licensure.​
